It's seriously cool, I bet you'd need a good few of them to be sustainable throughout the year though. Probably a really neat gimmick but I can't imagine a bunch of impoverished farmers buying a few hundred of these to set up in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Honestly I'm not sure. I know the basis of this is taught in a bunch of survival things to get water from plants and such. I imagine it does take a good bit of startup water though, and some of that's going to be lost to the soil too.
