Be the harbinger of truth.

Spread the word.

Be the hero they deserve.

"Also known as the Great Emu War" implying there was more than one?

Also, they used WW1 LMGs. Jesus christ

I think the others may have been more of skirmishes. >.>

But yeah, they took that pretty serious, and got their ass whooped by giant birds.

I read about this a while ago and when I did was the exact moment I gave up on taking Australia seriously on any real level.

That whole country is like some fucked up fantasy land that I super wish I lived in.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Well I think it's fair to assume that damn near everything in australia possesses drive, will, and means to absolutely murder everyone.

Nah nah, she'll be 'right
(that's a very typical Aussie response to this type of comment)

Alright, they're hardy creatures, and we're hardy people, but I mean, it's not that bad.

I mean, I can't heckle australia over this

Large birds are goddamn terrifying, they're the closest things we have to current day dinosaurs

and the fact that they opened fire on them, and only killed 12, scares the shit out of me

I got to pet one once, I was warned to stand to the side of the eviscerating talons.

It kinda puts Jurassic park into perspective when people are just like "Why not shoot them all?"

My brother had one a long time ago.
It was very skittish, and I just wasn't that bold daring & unafraid to push my presence onto a critter that big.
