I was thinking about fantasy TV shows, but the only ones that sprung to my mind were those by Sam Raimis Renaissance Pictures: Hercules & Xena
Xena was just a cool show, something you could watch without much thinking though there was enough substance to keep you entertained. And yes, I admit it, I had a little TV crush on Gabrielle. . Apart of that there were lots of funny, often silly episodes and jokes which never were painful though. It was just fun entertainment, something I miss these days a bit.

I saw the shows a few times when I was very young, but never got into them. I'm a pretty big fan of greek mythology and such though.

Hey this thread isn't dead. Totally did not see that one response forgive me.
And, I think Hercules & Xena had as much to do with greek mythology as James Bond has to do with real life espionage lol.

I honestly don't remember much about it. I know there were some funny parts, but don't remember much past that.

I liked Xena more than Hercules, I think her episodes were written a bit stronger. Though I did love the episode where Hercules had to kill the hydra. Anytime someone has to kill a hydra its great because apparently they always forget that if you cut off one head another two pop out.

Some fantastic shows. Shame I've never really gotten to see the later episodes. But since they have em on dvd for sale at Wal-Mart. Shouldn't be much of a problem now. Lol.

Xena was pretty cool to watch from time to time, but to be honest a good new show of the same style and with lucy who played xena, is sparticus, thats show is really adult but still very good.

Xena was my role model when I was a little girl. I still remember going to visit my mother in the next city over, and my parents left me and my younger sisters in a hotel room. The T.V. was on, and I saw Xena: Warrior Princess for the first time. I became so immersed in the show that when my parents brought back dinner, I was totally glued to the T.V. and not paying attention at all. I told my mom later: "I want to be Xena! And [my friend] can be Gabrielle!"
...Part of that desire to be Xena came from being bullied a lot, though. I wanted to kick so many asses but couldn't.
