I was aspergling around the ol' computer when I should have been sleeping last night, reading up on the basics of circuitry because minecraft, obviously.

I got lost in the colorful bits and interesting tools, like I always do, and got to thinking about picking up some kinda hobby kit. So I was looking through all the... build a... flashing LED keychain... ham radio kits, and they all sucked. So I stopped to think, what would I really apply any knowledge of electronics to? That's an easy one, fucking robots. Everybody wants robots.

So I was looking through the various robotics kits, and they've got a lot of interesting junk, but none of the robots even came equipped with weapons! The closest was an electronic rock 'em sock 'em robots set. That's when I realized I need to take it upon myself, using the tools the mighty internet has given me, to construct fighting robots to die in glorious single combat for my deep personal enjoyment. More on this later when I have some idea where to start 0_0

I met one of my best friends in an attempt to build a battlebot. We attempted to build a spinning robot like blendo (http://www.youtube.c...h?v=3J8N3lXmEw0 for those who don't know)

I'd suggest something like Backlash or Deadblow though.

Also, only mods and admins can move threads, I got it for you.

Rofl, yeah, build a robot like Dog. That sound easy enough.

I COULD probably get the parts to build some kind of fetching robot, especially if it had a little ball that it could find by radio or something, but not anything like Dog xD

Think I'll stick with my original, stabbier idea.

You could use an RFID tag for fetching.

Also, if you wanted to do something like backlash, you could get one of the new battery powered skill saws and use as the weapon, that'd probably be the easiest to integrate.

Oh yeah? Sounds pretty badass.

I was thinking of making something spiky... some kinda vlad the impaler deal. Then if I worked up a second I was thinking something like son of whyachi with it's awesome hammer-propeller xD

Son of Whyachi was a beast. That's a great design if you can get it balanced, and the hammers sturdy enough.

Yeah, it would definitely take some tuning to get something to balance while spinning a bunch of destructive hammers around itself
