I had my last summer cookout with my favorite beer.
I tossed some portabella mushrooms and garlic with thyme and some truffle oil and wrapped it up, I tossed some baby dutch yellow potatoes and onions with bacon drippings and a bit of salt and pepper and wrapped it up, I wrapped some white corn on the cob with butter and salt, made some sausage links with the snap casings, a few really nicely marbled steaks, and some beef ribs rubbed with Stubb's spice rub.
I bought some really soft rolls too for the sausage.
I have a feeling I'm going to go into a meat coma, and I don't care.

I tried marmite today in my anthropology of food class. It is like a horrid paste made of salt and salt covered glue.
Still glad I got to try it, but not an experience I intend to repeat.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

If I'm catching what you're throwing.
Also, Kenny, that sounds terrible.
Now I have to try it.

I made bacon cheeseburgers for dinner.
I used muenster cheese and brioche buns with thick hickory smoked bacon.
They were so juicy I had to eat mine over the plate. >_>

Friday night was our fend night. I baked up some Schwann's mini corn dogs -- they tend to be bigger and more meaty and fried up some cheese curds to go along with it. Cheese curds are a signature Wisconsin food that's very standard around these parts (I'm told it's hard to find in other states by numerous tourists.)
Domino's pizza tonight. I typically order pizza on Saturday's depending on what I got planned. It's gotten to the point where some of the delivery men know my cats by name and not to let the monsters outside.

So far tonight. Absolut Vodka, Sailor Jerry spiced rum, Coke.
Yep.
I ate Dominos two nights in a row. Damn I love that place. I enjoy the Chef's Best range the most. One of the delivery guy's knows my name and actually delivers to my door at the back, up 3 flights of stairs in my unit complex ... before I have time to go outside and meet him. What a legend. In Australia this is extremely good service, at least where I come from (I'm not a metropolitan douche). And no I don't tip him.
Long live pizza and alcohol!
