I use a student version of McAfee that my university provides. I also run Spybot occasionally.

I was an idiot 4 years ago wow.

After seeing a presentation on computer security at my university, I just use Windows Defender now, occasionally using MalwareBytes just in case. And Adblocker everywhere.

McAfee is awful, and not just the software. John McAfee is a disgusting person.

I once installed AVG on some computers at my old workplace and ultimately had to take it off. They were very old, slow computers and the ads of "we optimized your PC by 40%!" nearly crashed the things. Plus you have to download an uninstaller for AVG? What kind of program requires you to download an uninstaller?

Yeah, AVG has gotten substantially worse over the years. Honestly if you're running adblock, you're pretty safe anyways.

Stay away from Kaspersky Lab software.   Best Buy has pulled it from their shelves and yesterday, the U.S. government is wiping any installs off their computer systems because the company is being investigated by the F.B.I. for possible links to Russian security services.

I'm currently using Emsisoft Anti-Malware as it is a very extensive and great protection solution against the most viable threats to date.

I used to use Norton, but I find it to be a big, cumbersome program that slows computers down.

I now just use Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free.
