I was shown this game Sunday by our local koala. Basically you redo battles from all of the Final Fantasy titles, and as you go you unlock characters from each. You can have parties made up of characters across all of the games, which makes things pretty interesting.
It's a freemium game, but so far that hasn't been an issue.

Well what have you got a windows phone for? 
Actually I hear a lot of nice things about windows phone. My sister loves the one I got her.
That said, really cool game, and apparently a lot more content going to be added(it is already in the japan version, but that has been out for almost a year.)

IX isnt in the u.s. version yet. So I have no idea. It is in the japanese version though so it is definitely coming, just a matter of when.

Aerith event is going on now. She is actually really easy to get, but there is a lot of other stuff to get too. Farm up magicite and trade it in for stuff

Got her too, I liked her in ff6, might swap out Aerith for her. Not swapping Rydia, Her black magic is too powerful since I got her special weapon. I rarely use healing anyways so going double black magic might be the way to go.

I think I might unlock the new person today, no idea what she's good at.
Finally got enough levels that I can squeak by some hard mode dungeons.

Even though I am a hardcore gamer, I have never played any Final Fantasy games. Which one should I start with?

Nine is my favorite, but there's no particular order to them. Start with one if you like old school games.
