Here in the Land of The Long White Cloud they are starting to phase out wii games from eb games (which I presume to be gamestop where most of you live)

Some games are going really cheap, others are still as expensive as the day they we're released (The Last Story - $134)

I remember N64 games we're dirt cheap at one point, NOW THEY'RE EXPENSIVE AS FUCK!@#$%$#@!

So since I plan on getting myself a wii-u sometime in the distance future I started collecting wii games for the hell of it.

I will admit that I've only ever played 4 wii games in the past, wii sport, wii fit, Donkey Kong Country Returns and Mario Kart.

So here's what I got

- Zelda Twilight Princess - $20

- Zelda Skyward Sword - $24

- Super Smash Brawl - $20

- Resident Evil 4 - $15

What I plan on getting

- The Last Story

-  Donkey Kong Country Returns (Perhaps on 3DS instead?)

I'm not really a fan of Mario as I was never brought up on them (PS1 WHATTT!!!!!!!)

And Xenogears doesn't really rub my nob either.... hmmmm

SO WHAT YA'LL THINK??????

WHAT HAVE YA GOT????

WHAT GAMES YOU THINK WILL BE VALUABLE/COLLECTABLE??????

SPEAK TO ME!!!!!!!!

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is pretty expensive at $90 new (also one of my favourite games), but even it's overshadowed by it's GameCube prequel, Path of Radiance ($245 new).

Game collecting has gotten really popular as of late, and it's both cool and frustrating because there's so many people scalping, buying up all the stock from the original source and selling them for outrageous prices, the Amiibos and the Majora's Mask preorder being really good examples.

Other than Radiant Dawn, I think the most expensive game I own is Lunar Silver Star Story for PS1. I got the collector's edition discs for $80, but it could be worth over $100 if I could get a hold of the box and cloth map.

Fire emblem eh? The 3DS version is virtually impossible to acquire at a reasonable price.

I see Majora's mask is also expensive, luckily I imported mine from Australia for $52 as opposed to $74 everywhere else.

I actually don't know the price of my most expensive game, I have a few rare ones, but none that are super valuable. FF7? FF9? Battlefront 2? $40+ maybe?

Yeah I love collecting but there are a few titles where people take advantage of the short supply, I hate that. Like the Zelda's on the original DS are bloody $80+ !@#$%^&@#$%$#@

Nintendo titles never seem to lose their value. I wonder why? All my ps2 games are worthless. Kingdom hearts 1 or Persona 3 might be worth a little? lol

Funny, it didn't look right when I did it in caps. It looked more like WWII. People might automatically assume that this was a World War 2 collectable thread.

Did you spend 80$ on video games for a console you don't even own? I get that you're talking about collecting, but I couldn't imagine paying green leafy spendy money for a game I can't play when I get home.

I've done that before, actually. I have a first pressing copy of Persona 2: Eternal Punishment for the PS1. I have no console to play it on as it's Japanese. It also comes with a second disk, a CD-ROM featuring trailers for the anime and interviews with the developers.

I have a similar issue with Innocent Sin, though I imported the PSP version of it and now have nothing to play that on also.

I also have a bunch of Japanese PS3 games that are pretty rare. The Suzumiya Haruhi VN, Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan, Wangan Midnight. I also have Cross Edge and Enchanted Arms, both of which sell for upwards of £40+ used now.

Yes. Yes I did :D

I call it preempting. Basically motivates me to purchase the console.

I did it for my Vita (Persona 4 Golden) and my 2DS (Ocarina of Time)

I should also mention that I purchased 12 original xbox games for $45 without a console. :)

They make very nice bookshelf decorations :)

But I know what you mean. Skyward Sword is getting smart to me. Begging me to play it. lol

I think it's because they're in such limited stock? The rarer amibos seem to sell for like 4x their original price here, it's insane. And I remember all places in town selling the $60 preorders for the new Majora's Mask collector's edition sold out in like an hour, and the moment it did I saw people posting to the local game trade fb page that they bought two and sell the second for $250 when they get it. It's so dirty, I want to punch these people in the face.

I know what you mean though, a lot of games I'd love to own are crazy expensive. 3DS/DS games have a lot of replayability most of the time and the price of the most popular ones--even if used--never seems to go down much.

I never got those Amiibo toys. Pikachu and Toon Link are like $25 whereas a character I've never heard of is selling for $75. DAMN!!!

The Limited ED Majora's Mask is like $99 online. Doesn't really seem worth it considering you only really get a book and a badge? $250 could get you another 3DS. lol

I'm actually excited by what the future holds to see how much these things will be worth. Might just double up on Zelda titles.

Collectors tend to collect any and every game they can on certain consoles, I'm just guna keep the ones I know I'm guna play and trade the shovelware.

I'm pretty happy with what I got atm. :) Quality games only.

I'm just worried that some mutt will break in and steal my shit. I should just Batman my valuables and have a secret compartment at the back of a bookshelf.

Why the heck is Xenoblade such a rip off? Nobody wants to part with their copy for less than $80.

I haven't spent $100 on a game since GTA 4 special edition which set me back $150. That was back in 2008. :(

C'mon $50 should be the limit. Bloody money hungry maggots.

Most of the awesome wii games are being re-released on the 3DS.

I went into EB Games today (which I presume to be Gamestop where most of you live) and came across a copy of Pandora's Tower at the full price of $134. Jesus Gandhi Christ old Hitler. I want it real bad but I refuse to spend $100+ on any games. Old or new.

On a positive note I found a Skyward Sword Limited Ed wii mote for $30. If I bundle it with my game it would sell for $150+. Tempted just to sell it off to buy an ounce of weed hahaha

Missed this last time. Owning a copy of a Shim Megumi game that I couldn't play would physically hurt me.

So, Australia New Zealand is like North America in the late 90's? I didn't know there were still EBs around. Is it officially EB games or Electronics Boutique?

Pandora's Tower

I Google'd this good thing. Why isn't it on a real system? Seems like a game I would fuck without lube and cuddly with afterwards.

I want it real bad but I refuse to spend $100+ on any games. Old or new.

Roms have saved nostalgia for me. Why buy a copy of Azure Dreams for 400$ when I have a digital copy on my laptop?

Actually that is rather accurate. NZ used to be 10 years behind the rest of the world. It's only since Peter Jackson and his Lord of The Rings/Hobbit films where people started giving a shit about us and bringing their technologies.

To be honest I never knew what EB stood for, but I always thought it was an Australian company. lol

But hell yeah dude, Pandora's Tower is making my armpits wet. I simply must play it. My friend over in Japan highly recommended it. I'm sure it's going to be super rare in the future. I've only ever seen one physical copy.

I'm not sure my mac can handle the roms with all my mass amounts of porn Hollywood movies. :)

Would save me a nutsack and a half though.
