Huh.
Alright, so as far as big, you mean where the most players are, capturing objectives, pushing back the other teams big mobs, etc?
I need to stop treating Tyrael as a lane pusher, but for ai fights it works so well I can't stop myself.
Sylv I can't play in QM, I just don't have the suitability, maybe if I figure out a better spec for her.
I'd like to have at least one toon to do QM on tho and I think warrior is probably my best bet.
Actually, I might be much better of a healer in QM too because honestly in the ai matches I was trying to heal the larger groups and they would just turn and abandon post as soon as I'd get there.
Let to many an ass flailing.
Yeah, so far hots is def the only one I'm interested in playing.
I have no want to play lol or dota or anything else, especially witnessing the type of people that flock to those.
I may have to give Valla another try then.
She's super cheap and if the skin goes on sale, I wouldn't mind having a second Tyrael toon to play.
I guess I just have to look more into how to spec her properly.
Does she handle anything like Kerrigan?
I noticed they were both assassins.
How do I play that type of toon?
Also, are there any ranged warriors?
Syylvanas was released pretty recently, and she was kinda released as an off-assassin lane pusher. It's really hard to play sylvanas well, even if you're good, because your /team/ has to take advantage of her pushing. If you're pushing bot, and your team groups 4 mid, it makes it really easy for the enemy team to prioritize sending a mob of people at you, so you gotta be really aware of what /the rest/ of the team is doing.
As far as QM toons, Lili and valla are probs my two favorite. THey do their jobs very well, so whatever comp you're paired with, you'll shine. Lili's honestly what I would recommend, even though I know you didn't have a good time as her. Her kit's just perfect for what you want a healer to do. Her Q automatically heals the lowest health target nearby, has a 3 second cooldown, and you can put traits in it to make it heal over time and throw 2 cups. Her ultimate is probably the best healing ability in the game, I'm pretty comfortable to say that it makes your team near-invincible, especially if the opponent cant focus you down.
Uther... I wanna recommend Uther super bad, but where they recently reworked him he's nowhere near as strong as he was. He's still a very strong, frontline fighter, but he's just not as scary as he used to be. His main thing is he's a melee healer, but he's got 2 heals, a massive single target burst heal, and a skillshot aoe heal. Used in tandom, you pretty much make laning a nightmare, you and your partner aren't going anywhere cuz you have 2 heals to use one after another. His third skill is a melee ranged stun, and it's really just for setting up teamfights and making Uther seem like a psuedo-tank, the stun scares most assassins away from him.
For building valla, I always take
1.Rancor: Hatred gives you more attack speed
4. Manticore: every third autoattack to the same target deals 150% damage
7. Searing attack: Activate and your autoattacks cost mana, but deal 150% damage [stacks with Manticore]
10: I almost always take Strafe, it's so hard to land the CC ult in a way that actually matters, but death is the ultimate CC
13: Vs 2 or more warriors, I take Giant Killer, otherwise take Tempered by Discipline to help keep your hatred at 10 stacks [Discipline stacks start to die before the Hatred stacks]
17: As with every Assassin, you're gonna wanna take Blood 4 Blood. It's a hard skill to learn to use, but once you get used to it you wont want anything else.
20: Entirely preference, I like to take Nexus Bolts because if you aren't gonna take an Autoattack buff on Valla, idk who that trait's supposed to be for lol.
And yeah, healing in the ai matches feels silly cuz the AI doesn't acknowledge that you're a healer lol. They're like "Welp, half health time to back" and you're running around tossing cups like WAIT A GODDAMN MINUTE MAN. Works a bit better in QM cuz your team can actually play around your healing, but opponents don't seem to so much lol.
Personally, as far as a gameplay aspect I really prefer HOTS to LOL or DOTA, it's not even about the stigmas attached to the.
HOTS is a fun game, matches take ~20 minutes, and you don't have to read an entire wiki to not get ROFLstomped when you decide to pick a champ that's "Not Meta". All the heroes hold their ground, they're all unique and fun to play, you might have to pay to unlock them but damn Blizz has to make money off the game somehow, and realistically the grinding isn't anywhere near as bad as LoL, just different. In hots, it's more prudent to just complete your dailies than to spend 10 hours straight farming gold for a hero. The game gets updates regularly, even when it was in alpha, and it's just SO MUCH FUN WITH FRIENDS my god.
Mechanics-wise, I love that the game has more depth than "Let the ADC farm, then let the ADC win". All the characters feel strong, and have their own weight. You're not gonna end up playing a 40 minute support game where the most impact you have is a single slow you can use twice before going back to base. You share levels, so you don't have to worry about your team raging cuz you're 2 levels behind for a teamfight because you got laned against a counter and have spent the last 10 minutes walking to and from base. It ends up making the game be more teamplay-based, no single ADC is gonna wipe the opposing team unless the entire enemy team is, like 7 levels behind, at which point they've already lost lol.
Kerrigan is a unique beast. She's one of the only 2 melee assassins, and she's very squishy. She's not played much anymore, because her kit's kinda got some critical flaws. Basically, as kerrigan you're going to want to jump out, jump on someone, and use your 2 CC skills to hold them still while you autoattack them to death. You don't have any self-healing, but damage you do gets a converted to a shield, which helps her stay alive. The reason she's not played much, though, despite being a strong assassin, is she's too easy to focus. Her only mobility skill can only jump on enemies, one of her CC skills brings enemies /closer/ to her, and her stun skill has a super tiny hitbox. Combine that with the facf that you aren't building any shield while running, and kerrigan ends up being a "Jump in and hope for the best" type assassin.
Looking into it, there actually aren't any ranged Warriors. If you want a nice starter warrior, I find that ETC is great for breaking people into the role. He's got 2 CCs, a self-heal, and one of the best ults in the game. He's super tanky, and his skills do well without any traits. Muradin is also a very useful Warrior, but in al honesty I find him one of the most boring champs to play. You just throw your stun hammer and jump around constantly lol.
