Man, where to start? I'll try to write a list of some games I've loved over the years.

Dead Space 1-3

Splinter Cell: Blacklist

The Last of Us

Uncharted 1-3

Resistance 1-3

Killzone 2 and 3

God of War III

I was more of an Xbox 360 collector, but I have a lot of PS3 games as well. You should really enjoy your purchase, it's a great console. It's also an excellent multimedia device, it pretty much does everything.

I wasn't aware God of War was on the PS3.

Have you started playing the last of us yet?

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Indeed. There are two titles; God of War III and God of War: Ascension. Not to mention there is a package including both PSP titles for play on PS3.

If that's the case, get Dante's Inferno. It's (in my opinion) better than God of War, both in story and in gameplay fluidity.

Plus there aren't as many bullshit platformer parts.

Definitely. I forgot to list Dante's Inferno. I actually bought that game about a week ago. It's a shameless God of War clone, but a very good one at that. Worth playing.

Me tooooo!  :D  It's been so long since I've owned a console that I had to make sure I did not over-binge on the game for the first month I had it (it's only been a few weeks and I've already failed at this). I'm a huge RPG fan when it comes to console gaming so for that I would suggest the Mass Effect trilogy (the only way to get the first game for the PS3 is to buy the set). The combat system really reminds me of Dragon Age 2 which is a huge plus in my book. I also really love Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. It's fast-paced and visually stunning and the bright colors and fast movements helps to keep my attention.  ;)

Somebody already mentioned the Uncharted games. I definitely second that. They are something of a free-range, parkour action type and they have an amazing story that boarders on something of a modern day Indiana Jones. I've only played the first two so far but I recently saw number three pre-played for super cheap.

Coming from someone who really does not get in to FPS games, I adored The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena and count it as one of my all time favorite games. Doom 3 is also a lot of fun but it is nothing compared to Riddick.

I'm not sure how you feel about "sports entertainment" but I also really love WWE 2K14. I haven't played a WWE game since their Smackdown vs. RAW titles. I don't enjoy it like I did back in the day but I still keep up-to-date on the happenings in sports entertainment.

And as much as I suck at them, I would suggest some pretty awesome fighters if you're in to those kinds of games. I'm itching to get the Budokai 3 HD remake but in case you're not in to DBZ then I might suggest Marvel vs. Capcom 3, MK vs. DCU, and Soul Calibur IV or V (I personally prefer 4 but 5 is a lot of fun).

So there you have it. My two sense.  :P
