So anyone here read A Song of Ice and Fire? want to talk about how they have adapted it to television?
Or anyone just wanting to talk about the show it's self?

I like the show a lot. A friend of mine (That's on here, he'll be posting on this) has all the books, and I need to borrow them from him to read them.

What do you think of season 2 so far? Season 1 was very similar ot the books but season 2 has kind of gone of the rails, it's not bad but not on the exact same path as the books. I look forward to what you friend has to say as well.

I've enjoyed it so far. I think they're changing it up because people knew pretty much exactly what was going to happen in season one, so it made it a bit more boring.

I figured that the writers were trying to get the meaning across from the books which was why they changed several key things however a few things they did had me being like "But why? that changes the character completely?". One of the best example I can think of is how they portray Cersei. In the novel she is actually really power hungry and grabs power and is an actually effective player in the 'game of thrones" but in the show is subject to Geoffreys whims and becomes sort of a background character. (Lol I could type about this forever, want bore anyone with it though)

She still seems pretty power hungry, just a bit more careful about it. They haven't shown her much lately though.

Ah i know what ya mean, in the books cersei is pretty much running the show at this point and Jophrey is just a figurehead who likes killing things/people for fun. Poor Tyrion, he does so much for King's Landing and he gets the shit end of everything.

Last weeks episode was nasty at the end though, I shit you not I spent like two minutes trying to get the corpses out of my head.

this show is awesome and the books as well. I like what they are doing with the show. Although I agree somethings changed did change the characters. However, at this point, I do like where they are leading the characters. I know the book so anxious to see how they are going to play this season out.
