I imagine when you attach a flap of skin that used to be a finger to a different part of your body it stops trying to be a finger.

I suppose the actual procedure was a little more complex than, 'take finger, attach finger over balls'.

 

Also to address the person in the last page who talked about penile cancer not existing: cancer can exist wherever there are tissues that regenerate. Think about it like this: brain cancers are very rare because the tissues in the brain tend to last for an extremely long time once the organ is fully developed. By comparison, the cells of the intestines and stomach are constantly regenerating and being stripped away and so there is a much higher chance of mutation in each cell division simply due to the sheer rate at which more cells are created. 

 

I don't know the regenerative rate of penile tissues but I'm sure it's not at all an impossible place to have a cancer.
