My Christmas present to myself was a new laptop to replace my 5 year old one. What are some PC games to try out? I was thinking of looking at Child of Light.
So I got a laptop that I can actually do things with

There are visual novels on Steam?!
Please, please, please get The Cat Lady.
For some reason I thought this was going to be a comedy. The video definitely changed my mind. It seems interesting though.
Depends what sort of games you like I suppose what genres are you into?

I enjoyed Child of Light very much and definitely recommend it. It is a beautiful game and, though it is a little on the short side, it has decent enough replay value IMO.My Christmas present to myself was a new laptop to replace my 5 year old one. Eufloria is a simple, laid-back puzzle/strategy game with pleasant graphics and music that might be worth your time to check out on Steam. There are two versions of it. The Classic "Not HD" version is actually better than the HD one. When they made Eufloria HD they changed the controls a bit and consequently made them janky as all Hell, lol.
Other Steam mentions: Don't Starve, Terraria, Spore
All I can think of right now. Happy hunting!

Oo spore. I might have to bust that out again.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Shovel Knight. And Painkiller: Black Edition.
Okay I just started Shovel Knight today and I was wondering if it's suppose to be as hard as I find it. Like it took me 3 times to kill my first dragon, 5 times to jump over a fallout section (I was trying to get m gold back okay...) and trying to dark knight took me about... I'd say.... 9 tries? It took me about 22 mins to complete the first level.

Yeah, it is really freaking hard. If this had come out when I was still used to playing SNES games it wouldn't be quite as bad, but it's a difficulty that you don't see as often anymore. Just keep practicing! The game is awesome enough that the difficulty is worth it.

I'll just play it until I just can't....

Avoid Volgarr the Viking then. Oh, and Specter Knight will ruin your world. That was the only boss that gave me any real trouble. And he's the third one.
Oh, and getting back into playing platformers made me take about that time to beat the first level. Because it is a trial and error game with a very forgivable death system. The second level, though, is so easy I played it over and over randomly throughout the game to gin up extra gold.

Well it honestly depends on what you're interested in. Horror games and shooter games are my personal favorite. Maybe checking into the Steam Community store will be a great place to find gamed you may be interested in from many varieties of topics and catagories of your liking
