Last year in my philosophy class someone thought Rene Descartes was a current world leader and just flat out didn't know who Immanuel Kant was.

Not gonna lie, I know fucking NOTHING about Kant.

I do know Descartes, though.

Not gonna lie, I know fucking NOTHING about Kant.

He's one hardcore rationalist, fantastic wig and undeniably clever but his theism proves to shoot some holes in his ideas. But hey could be worse, he could be Berkeley.

Not a fan of Kant. His viewpoint is just so damned depressing.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Hume is my boy, empiricist and secular philosopher. Just not sure if I'm an indirect realist.

On an even happier note, I don't know any of those guys.

My younger sister until just a couple years ago didn't realize that rolling the windows down didn't really mean rolling them up like towels inside the car door.

In summer I sometimes go to children camps as a supervisor, in parallel there is always a teenagers camp as well.

Last year there was a girl (~8) that asked me if the guy with the long hair (a supervisor from the teenager camp) was a girl since boys do not have long hair.. Even though she as a girl had short hair.. but she was convinced that guys always have short hair and girls have long hair (but girls can cut their hair if they like)

I'll let my sister know so she can feel better about herself :P (She thinks she's the only one)

When I was a little kid I used to rub my eyes a lot so my mother told me they'd fall out if I kept doing that. I totally believed her, and would even shake my head and ask if any of them jiggled or looked loose.

You know how when water goes down the drain sometimes it sticks in those circular grates for a second? I used to think those were fish eyes looking up at me.

Ooh! When I was little, a family friend told me that "a frog in one's throat" was literal. She told me that a tiny frog crawls into your throat and makes you sound funny.

Hook, line and sinker for me.

I used to think that frogs appear if people whistle when I was five. My mom told me some weird stories about her brother, so yeah...

Happens all the time I can't think of a specific example outside of my mom's general technological ineptitude. But I expect that now...

Hrrm...

Oh, a friend of mine in college hadn't seen like any movies but had gone to the premier of Haunted Mansion. I was like, WHAT?!? You saw that movie but haven't seen Dirty HarryAnimal HouseThe Princess Bride, or the Back to the Future trilogy? What?
