By the way, NF really is starting to sound like a fairytale land to me. I've now seen an angel, an elf, a talking leaf, and an unspecified fae. I may have missed some, but I'm pretty sure Spleen is doing a bad job hiding that portal we spoke of when I first arrived. Magic is seeping through steadily.

Man, I can't see the word satyr without thinking of this old tactical RPG I had on the PS2, called Gladius. One of the recruitable/enemy races was a satyr, they usually used daggers and had a bunch of skills based around using their bottle of alcohol, if I recall.

In Classical Studies we studied amphora's and vase painting/stories.
According to Greek Mythology, Satyrs we're horny goat beings that would rape anything that moved. Often painted with an erect penis.
It is also a common enemy in the Dragon Quest: Journey of The Cursed King
