Sometime earlier this year (I'm not looking it up) I finally got around to watching Toradora. When it was mentioned, Kitty, I think, said something about a Christmas rewatch. Well, apparently December 6th is the day to start it so the awesome Christmas special coincides with Christmas eve. /R/Anime started theirs about nine hours ago.

An English dub came out a few months ago, so I'm gonna watch that one this time. Honestly, I kinda like it. Ryuji's voice took some getting used to, but the rest aren't bad. I kinda wonder if certain lines will sound as good without Rei doing Taiga's voice:

Spoiler

Anywho, the thing's happening. The show is up there as far as Japanese romantic comedies go. There's no battles, no magic, just feels.

There was a guy at anime club who was begging me to show Toradora for the last showing, usually reserved as a Christmas showing. The thing is, it doesn't get Christmas-y until the middle of the series, and you can't just show three random episodes to a bunch of people. Then the feelings aren't developed and you won't be on the verge of tears during the important bits! So we showed Tokyo Godfathers instead (which I really recommend as a Christmas film too)

I'm definitely taking part in this. Time to go watch episode one!

Yeah, agreed. I was told before I watched for the first time that it was a good Christmasy show and didn't understand why until the halfway point. I'm still not sure how it'll work out, but I'll participate. I don't need much of an excuse to watch that show.
