^ Roger that
I love the one on the left, his expression and hair really gets me.
Both of them though are a huge improvement on the earlier ones you posted. I think you're getting better at eyes. Ears is where you might need the tips you asked for - on the left, the earlobes are up too high, while in the right they (or it, I can only see one) are just about correct. The ears themselves are too small. The beginning of the ear (where it starts up there, but not the top curve) should align with the corner of the character's eye. The top curve should be a bit higher - in real life it aligns with the eyebrow, however in anime it can be lower than that if you have high eyebrow on your character's face. I'll sketch out examples of what I mean for you, if you'd like.
Yeah, I still have some trouble placing the ears, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I understand what you mean but sketched examples are always welcome, they help me the most.
Also, here's an old sketch I found, maybe around 3-4 months old, when I hadn't drawn anything properly in ages and wanted to know what I could do:
and it's also the reason I wanted to learn how to draw properly.
Ignore the odd bunny ears, at some point I just kinda went "meh fuck it" and drew those for shits and giggles and then forgot about this completely until now.
Also, if anyone has any tips on how to learn to draw anatomically correct bodies, I'd be very grateful. When I've got to the point where the face sketches look okay in my opinion, I'll move on to drawing bodies.
