When I was a kid I wanted to be an animator, work for Disney or Pixar.

I even when to college to pursue it.

Sadly there weren't any institutes that offered animation classes. :(

So I resorted to film making.

Anyway it got me thinking because i asked my niece what she wanted to be when she grew up, she simply said 'Ariana Grande'

I thought it was cute.

ANYWAY we're all 'presumably' adults now...... and I ask....

WHAT DID YOU CHAP/CHAPETTES WANT TO BE AS A CHILD?????

SPEAK YOUR MIND PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!

Did the TV show 'Big wolf on Campus" or Michael J. Fox have anything to do with it? ;)

I think I wanted to be a physicist at one point.

I'm fearful, I'm fearful, I'm fearful of flying, and flying is fearful of me.

I wanted to be a teacher for the longest time.

History and exercise science.

Then I looked at the job prospects and realised that there was a good chance I would end up doing temp work for years because teachers apparently refuse to retire until they literally drop dead from old age.

So, I started down the path to become a firefighter, even had the connections to actually end up with a job instead of on a massive waiting list due to the hero status that a shit tonne of people try to enter the field to attain. The schools I applied to had no space for someone with my grades, which weren't that bad, so I went to my backup program, which was cabinetmaking. I did that for a bit, then opened up an embroidery business, as many of you are aware.

I still wish I had gone though with the teaching thing.

I think I would have enjoyed it, and probably even been half decent at it.

I never knew what I wanted to be, and I still don't.

Guess I haven't achieved much in my life.

I like that.. Most kids want to be Batman.

I come from a long line of Professors and Teachers. I'm the only one who broke tradition. My mother actually was the one who put me off because as a kid we would spend long hours at school during the weekend.

But having a teacher's would be beneficial because it would give you the opportunity to travel. Therefore I HIGHLY encourage you to pursuit your childhood dream.

Aren't you still in high school? When I left all I wanted to do was collect all 425 Pokemon. :) So you are forgiven :)

I wanted to be a lab assistant. Science always fascinated me, and my best grades were in it. Then I just never followed through in college/university, and now I don't care about it enough.

I enjoyed science also, the practical side, not the theoretical.

As for college, you have to 'want' to be there, otherwise you won't put 100% effort into it. Gotta get yourself psyched.

When I was five, a pokemon trainer.

I held on to being an author for a good while before I decided I liked math and went into the sciences. I didn't switch around a whole lot.

Though even now I consider things when I see or meet someone in the field. After Is the Order a Rabbit, I wanted to work in a cute cafe. After seeing a cabaret performance, I wanted to do that. After playing Phoenix Wright for the first time, I decided I could totally be a lawyer. Usually I just muse about those thoughts until a new one comes along, they never go anywhere haha.

Tradition is fine and good, but the family trade is not for everyone.

As long as you are content in your existence you have succeeded.

As for my dream, being a teacher wasn't the only one.

Besides. I'm 26 years old and running my own relatively successful business, just got in to my house, have a nice fall beard in the works, and am incredibly good looking. All things considered, I'm doing alright.

A vet, a dentist, a lawyer, a policeman.

My career isn't close to any of those.

Depends on how old I guess.

As a very little girl, I wanted to be the typical things; princess, ballerina/dancer. When I got a little older I wanted to be a doctor/nurse for a little while. Then I wanted to be an actress and singer for a very long time, went though most of my tweens and teens wanting to be an actress. But it wasn't until my mother told me I was too fat to be an actress when I gave up on that idea. I felt it wasn't the best idea to pursue a career when even your own mother can't support you. I was about 15/16 when that happened and a couple months later I learnt about quantum mechanics and decided that I wanted to become a theoretical physicist and I am in the process of becoming one.

Because I can...

I wanted to be an artist as a kid. I was in an after school art club through elementary school. I slid school by on my brains and never did homework and doodled all of the time. Then in middle school, when we were choosing classes for high school, I decided computer drafting was as close to art as I would get in school. I mean, there was an art class, but there wasn't a major for it. I went to college for architecture, but the only classes I ever went to were English related. I accumulated fifty something credits, almost none in math or drafting.

Creative writing teacher pushed me to actually try after submitting a decent dinosaur story with veiled communist themes, so I decided to transfer and switch to an English major. I took the ACT and made a 35 on reading and a thirty-something-less-than-that in English, so professional author trumped school for a bit.

oOh god that annoys me to no end. In no way shape or form should a parent discourage their child from doing anything (no matter how farfetched or unachievable it may seem)

Reminds me of my father. "Stop dreaming you pansy, you sing like shit, you aint never guna a musician" ……….. lol Thanks for the motivation jackass. 3 years later…...

Morale of the story never let anybody shatter your dreams. Salute all the naysayers with the middle finger and fuck you very much :)

p.s sorry that I'm not replying to the rest but….. I'm lazy as fuck today :)

PEACE!!!!!!
