I am looking for a laptop for my mom, as the one she is currently using is just about the most terrible piece of hardware I have ever seen.

It is ancient and falling apart, both literally and mentally.

Since I am very, very cash poor right now I am hoping that one of you fine folk have an old laptop that is of no use to you that you would be willing to trade for an equally valued sum of patches.

I understand that it is a long shot, but if anyone is interested let me know.

I also do custom work, so if you have a design or even several, you would like turned in to a patch I can easily do that as well.

The only one I have laying around is running a nX2 and doesn't hold a charge.

Would a desktop suffice or would it need to be a laptop?

If yes and anyone else has any spare parts I have a spare GPU, PSU and hard drive.

I am leaning toward a laptop.

She bring her computer places, so mobility is something of a must.

Lenovo is good and cheap. This is a nice model: LENOVO G50-30.

I know you said you lean toward a laptop, but INTEL NUC is a really cool desktop computer.

Unfortunately the only laptop I currently have that I don't use is in too poor of shape for me to be willing to hand off, needs more work than it's worth really.

Check out Computer Liquidators downtown in London though, sometimes they have decent deals.

I will have to check that out.

Maybe even just take my mom there and get her to pick her own laptop.
