Very interesting article. I will be very interested to find out what happens to the much beloved Studio Ghibli.
The first anime I ever properly saw was Laputa: Castle in the Sky. What was yours? (by studio ghibli)

Aww.... I didnt want more bad news. Too much of that going around lately.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

If it helps, they were just rumours, and the article adds in an extra update at the end saying that it might not actually happen. And this is my bad for not finding more articles to cross-reference earlier, but here are some more than confirm that they aren't closing, just taking a break to see what different direction they could go

Also in that first article the author ends with a suspenseful and dramatic hook. I'd take it with a grain of salt.
