A little surprised that Korea beat Japan to the wearable robot suits, but still pretty cool.

the explosives/drug stockpile laser doesn't sound quite right to me. I really want to know how that would work.

How does it detect explosives/drugs from a half mile away? Is it just a really stupidly long range laser attacked to some sort of tracking camera?

The Robot swarm is pretty interesting, you could probably make your own swarm by hacking a bunch of Roombas. I can't really think of many uses for a herd of vacuums though.

The US made a wearable exoskeleton in 1986. It was just a bit pointless. xD It didn't have any real useful capabilities, but omg. In 2005 some guy wore one and set a land speed record for walking in a robotic exoskeleton.

Y'all just grasping at straws now XD

Also, Japan did beat Korea. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HAL_5

I think the difference being these exoskeletons are going to be used on a fairly large scale for the first time.

HAL-5 is used in over 100 hospitals in Japan, and is licensed for worldwide use, as well as being the only medical treatment robot to be used in Europe.

I'd call that larger scale than a shipyard :P

I love these, but I start to get a little worried about the inevitable robot uprising

Sadly Skynet is much more a feasible enemy to mankind than shuffling dead people.
