There are very few famous people I care about. Robin Williams was one of those few, and probably my favorite famous person. Hard to imagine never seeing a new film with him in it again(following this year, I am aware that he finished filming on a couple things that are not yet released)
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Robin Williams was easily my favorite actor as a child, and he still is/was one of the only actors I really liked. Sad he's gone.

I live in the town where Jumanji was filmed/took place.
There's a painting of Parish Shoes on the wall still at the intersection of West and Main/Center Square. On my way to the library today, I passed it. There are bouquets of flowers, signs and all sorts of stuff. Apparently he really had an impact on the town when they were filming.

People die, it happens.
I tend to have little reaction to most deaths, especially celebrities.
Since I have to real connection with them other than watching them in movies and on T.V., it only makes sense.
Suicides strike me a little differently, no matter the person.
When someone dies from heart failure, or pneumonia, or a bus it is sad, but when someone's ticket is up they usually have no choice in the matter.
When a person commits suicide they are making a conscious decision to no longer be alive.
Robin Williams wasn't taken from us, he left us all behind.
Which strikes me a little harder than getting my head around someone simply being gone.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.
