What are your thoughts on the casting? 

 

I've read Maisie Williams and Josh Brolin are fan favourites for the role of Joel and Ellie. Troy Baker, the voice of Joel in the game has even been quoted to say he was doing a 'Josh Brolin' type voice when he recorded for the game.

 

As great as Maisie Williams is in Game Of Thrones (Arya Stark) and being a fellow Brit I have quite a lot of bias towards her, I think the reason why she's been tipped for the role of Ellie is because of the relationship between Arya and the Hound in GOT is a very similar to that of Joel and Ellie. I think GOT was her first ever acting role, I'd be interested to hear her American accent.

Josh Brolin is pretty much perfect for it in my opinion. Voice, grow a beard, maybe work out just a LITTLE and bam.

 

As for Maisie, I'm not sure how I feel. She is a good actress but besides riding a horse, being bitchy, and the occasional stab, she doesn't do much. She probably has a great American accent. All you Brit actors seem to pull it off

I think you're right about Brolin. I much prefer him for the role than say Hugh Jackman or Russell Crowe.

 

It's probably safe to say Ellen Page won't be involved after she made Naughty Dog change Ellie face as the likeness to Page was so similar.

 

I'm interested to see how much of the original plot they use

And the only thing I can say in an American accent is any word with a "y" at the end.

 

And I just end up sounding like a Vally Girl. Not cool
