Anyone following these? Been watching it on Hulu and am really digging it. It's one of these anime where you kind of want to choke the protagonist because of how...whiny...? he can be at times BUT it makes up for it by really bringing home 'the feels'. I've never had an anime really make me experience the feelings that some of the scenes from this one do. It does a really good job of making the characters struggles and feelings real. It's fairly disturbing so if you're not into that you may wanna stay away.

This is the one with the demons that can only eat flesh and coffee right? I watched it with a friend not long ago and I was left a bit confused. I wasn't sure how to feel about any of it. I only gave it one episode though, maybe I should keep going.

I tried watching the first 2 episodes. That kid with a demon eye and a normal one. It was pretty meh.

Wasn't enough excitement to compel me to continue watching the series......

On a positive note it manage to make me sleepy that night, so I highly recommend it for those who can't sleep.

Same. The anime was decent, but I didn't make the three episode test. I read the manga for a bit, maybe fifteen chapters? It was better, also, uncensored. Graphic.

Meh. 6/10

If you want gore and violence, Akami ga Kill is the way to go. I've trailed behind with the anime, but I'm up to date with the manga. Bloody and awesome as hell. Also, the show with the girls becoming local idols is cute as fuck. Also, new Monogatari in like, two weeks. That's probably the best thing coming out this season, but it's only five episodes. They need to make the fucking Kizumon movie already. Heart-underblade in full vampire mode? Fuck yeah. Does anyone even know what I'm talking about at this point?

I started reading it, and I think it is really good. But then again Idk if the anime is any different from the manga.

Second season is coming out, watched the first episode today. Anyone who didn't watch to the last episode of the first season is really missing out, in my opinion.
However, yes they did make Kaneki a lot more whiny in the anime than he actually should have been.

I've watched the whole series on Hulu.  I have not read the manga.

I think the series is more or less sound, but I would definitely have directed it differently.   I feel like the characters are a little flat and typed.  My favorite one was Mado, and it's a little sad when you enjoy the villain more than the protagonist.  I would have focused more on the world and history of ghouls, and not on a whiny Shinji Ikari clone.

I've read about half of the manga and put it down due to I picked up other things, but I did hear that there are mixed emotions on the s2 e1 they did.

I watched the first season in 2014 and I really liked it, but when the second season started airing, I had already lost interest in the anime, so I didn't finish watching the second season; I only watched 2 or 3 episodes of the second season before dropping it.

Actually, a few days ago, I was thinking about watching the first season again then watching the second season. I still don't know whether I'll do that or not, as there are other anime that I'd like to watch, as well.

I've been watching through these today. Seen the first three episodes, and I actually am digging it. The main character is a bit whiny, but I mean, I actually don't mind as long as character development is a thing in this, and he, you know, stops being a little bitch.

He turns into a bad ass. Tokyo Ghoul is hands down my favorite anime at the moment. Hence my profile picture. My girlfriend actually got me a Tokyo Ghoul shirt the other day and I've worn the shit out of it.

Just finished the first season. (On to Tokyo Ghoul √A now). The last few episodes horrified me. He has definitely became a badass though.

The second season made me really sad, but it's still phenomenal.

The fighting battles in this anime are quite brainless, truth to be told. However, I find the concept of ghouls in really interesting so I will wait for the end of it.
