I agree. This place isn't about being smart. It's a place to talk about topics other might enjoy as much as you or I do. It's pretty fun..

Sorry, I feel like I've been a part of the problem in this case, but I'm really just joking around. Threads like "how do I make an iphone app" are pretty common.

 

But seriously, everyone has things they specialize in. We sometimes talk about those things around here, but we're not trying to put anyone down. Tell us about the stuff that you like to do!

We're pretty laid back. Just try to have some fun, you'll fit in.

I agree with Lando. We are pretty chill. Sure there may be some topics that may not tickle your fancy but there is always something for everyone. I know I'm all about having fun and enjoying conversation with others.

We're not that smart, and you'd definitely fit in if you spend some more time with us. I think everyone feels like they don't fit in at first, but if you take the time to post around a bit, get to know us and let us get to know you, you'll get along fine. What kind of stuff do you like to do?

 

And like Lando said, a lot of people come here asking the same question, or even say "I have an idea for a game, now which one of you nerds will program it for me?" not realizing that the programming is like 95% of the work to a game. It can be hard to tell whether these people know what they're getting into or are disillusioned about the work involved, so while we do give them advice, usually we warn them of how much work it is as well.

What Krys said. We all have different intelligences in the sense of strengths and weaknesses in different areas. I have an encyclopedic knowledge of Sailormoon, but fuck if I know a goddamn thing about programming or script. Not worse or better; just different.
