Its one of the more original scifi movies though, I wish there was something similar again. But without Chris Tucker.

I laugh every time I see his parts in the movie.
I wouldn't change it.

I watched Battle Los Angeles when it first came out on DVD, and was pretty impressed with it.

There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.

And Serenity? Granted that most of the appeal is because I love (present tense) Firefly, but I believe that even if you haven’t seen the show you would love it. The writing can convey very strong emotions in a very short time. Plus, who doesn’t love Kaylee? She's so shiny.
The Omega Man, (One of three, really. But I like it the best) Barbarella, (A guilty pleasure of mine) Scanners, Danny Darko (If it counts) Starship Troopers, (Neal Patrick Harris as a tongue-in-cheek Nazi? Nuff said) The Day the Earth Stood Still (Klaatu verata nictuu)
My first novel, Seeds of Magic- Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Kobo, Sony Store

Blade Runner was a beast. I love Harrison Ford in Jones and Star Wars, but Blade Runner has a special place in my heart. Plus, in Fallout NV you can get Dekard's gun. I yell 'Freeze, replicant!' every time I draw it on someone.

Awesome.

I hated Starship Troopers. Granted, I saw it when I was like, ten or something, but still. Bad memories.
Another vote for Fifth Element.
Tron. Because.
Titan AE. That movie is underrated and badass.
...I am genuinely having trouble thinking of other sci-fi films.

Apparently I completely ignored this thread since forever, so here is my two pence.
Alien
The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951)
Planet of the Apes (1968)
Dark City
District 9
Jurrasic Park
The Thing
The Abyss
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
A Clockwork Orange
Terminator
Mad Max (and The Road Warrior)
Star Wars
Underworld Trilogy
Gattaca
Escape From New York
Attack the Block
Source Code
Twelve Monkeys
Total Recall
RoboCop
Logan's Run (moreso for the concept and delivery than the acting)
Soylent Green
Young Frankenstein
Village of the Damned
Pitch Black
The Blob
That is all I can muster from my brain and looking at my DVD collection.
There are so many more though, oh so many.
Top ten I cannot say, but I am sure they would be in there somewhere.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.
