    Hello wonderful forums! I'm new here (as you probably can tell). On the average nerd's nerd scale I would probably be classified as the "Down Syndrome Nerd", or maybe a step higher ("Nerd Wannabe"). I absolutely love Anime, I have an infatuation with coding (Just starting),I adore math, science is my buddy, and I spend my summers doing all these things plus reading too many books. I get high off that book smell, yah know? A couple of questions: Do you allow bumping, or is that spamming? What is your favorite color? Will I be spocked slapped for calling a person a geek instead of a nerd? The second one is mandatory. I just really want to know one and three. NINJA VANISH! -poof-

Welcome to the forums. I believe we label bumping as spam, but I could be mistaken. My favorite color is purple, dark purple that is, and I don't think you'll be slapped for calling someone a geek. Not a ton of  difference between the two really.

To my understanding, geeks are more hyped and passion-ed about their interests; as when you say otaku, it's not just for anime. It's used mostly to categorize the scale of the obsession of said person with said interest. Otaku literally means freak, which would, to us, in some way equal to being a geek of a particular interest.

 

I for one, am not only an art geek, I am an art whore. Art otaku. Now, I use the word "otaku" since you love anime, and perhaps that'd make it easier to understand, and both words could be compared.

 

For nerds, I believe they are more based in academics, math, science, etc.

I can't choose my favourite colour, I've must have bounced between all colours of the rainbow since I was like 5. I used to love green, but now I'm starting to really like pink, accepting the girl in me maybe, haha.

 

I think bumping is considered spam, and we don't take semantics too seriously so you're good on the nerd/geek thing.

 

Also I really like anime too! What's your favourite series?

@SushiKitten-Thank you too! I have a problem choosing my favorite color too. Right now it's sapphire blue. My favorite anime? I have more than one:Black Butler, Naruto, Death Note, and some others.
