Luckily my WoW subscription bought me Diablo 3. I still haven't had a chance to play it yet though.

I can't justify paying a subscription either. Plus I played WoW a long time ago on a private server. It was fun, but it's not something I'd consider paying for. Games like Guild Wars, RFOnline, SMT: Imagine and countless other MMOs play extremely similarly. I feel like Blizzard is falling behind because people are expecting more content for less money.

As someone who put together a private server once, I can tell you they're not nearly as good as the paid servers. For the amount you get in content it's worth it to me, vs the cost of a new game ever 4 months.

I know a private server wouldn't be as good, but yeah. I couldn't justify the price, and I still can't. I guess with a group of friends it'd be a better idea though. The only MMO I've ever paid for is Phantasy Star Online.
