I think Tennant is the greatest Doctor of all. It's my op of course, but almost all Whovians think Tennant was the best.

Just started watching Doctor Who. I think David Tennant was the best one.

Almost all whovians who have only seen the new series. Of course of the three to pick from in the new series it is hardly competition. Especially with Moffat running the show into the ground.

All three of the reboot Doctors have their charms.
Tennant just happens to be the best looking and most appealing personality wise.

I really like Christopher Eccleston as the ninth doctor. I was super bummed that he was only on for one season :/
I'm a Liger.... Want to see my Liger impersonation?

To be fair, most of the Whovians weren't born for three quarters or more of the Doctor Who stuff.

A vast majority of them.
Hell, I was born in 1988, when the original series had already been on the air for a quarter of a century.
It was as old as I am now when I was born.

I love the shit out of Patrick Troughton, but Eccleston is my favourite new era doctor. I reckon Peter Capaldi might rejuvenate the show though after Moffat is done with it of course.

Tennant is my favorite of the reboot. And my favorite Classic Dr is Peter Davison. I just love how his daughter married David It all fits together in one Doctor WHo family!!!

Eccleston feels like the underrated doctor compared to Tennant and Smith. He was so good and he had lots of great episodes, and the first for the fans who started with the new era, which is a lot of fans. From what I know, Eccleston is still proud of what he's done on the show, but refused to be a part of the 50th anniversary because the story Moffat came up with completely killed the ninth doctor's story arc.

I'd actually heard that Eccleston didn't want to have to do with the 50th anniversary because he was unhappy with how the show was going. I think that's also the reason why he only had one season. I hope he changes his mind, I'd love to see him in a Christmas special.

Eccleson was definitely a good Doctor.
I liked the episode where he and Rose had that run in with the Dalek in the underground facility and it is dormant until Rose touches it and gives it some juice to start murdering again.
His Doctor was cool, cheeky, wise cracking, and totally in control.
Then he meets that Dalek and has a total breakdown.
It is one of the only times you see him lose his cool and start raving and smashing stuff in a fit of fear and rage.
Since he is the incarnation immediately after the Doctor who destroyed the Daleks and the Time Lords in the Time War, he would have a massive amount of fairly fresh emotional wounds. He never lets it slip that he is broken to Rose, or anyone else who looks up to him, but in that moment, you get to see what is going on behind the snarky curtain.

Though David Tennant was an amazing Doctor, if you take a step back to me he seems a bit overrated. I think out of the new series he is the best portrayal of the quirkiness and feel of the Doctor, but Eccleston with his passion and anger and Smith with his cool style/feel are also very important to consider. I prefer Smith out of the new series but you should really consider watching the classics like Jon Pertwee. Now THAT was a great Doctor.

Eccleston is totally underrated. Tennant was definitely the most real character. Tom Baker, however, is my favorite Doctor. Tcggamer, you should definitely watch some Classic Who.
