Yes I agree with Affray, my copy of Windows broke on me my first semester of university and I had no recovery disc, I put Ubuntu on my laptop so i could still get work done and had no troubles. A lot of distros are beginner friendly now.

My current laptop is probably going Linux when I get a new laptop. The only reason I don't go full Linux is because most software I need for class is exclusive to Windows.

...all jokes aside, Macs have by far the best operating system. It's a shame it's overpriced.

The profit margins are 50% or so. I don't know why Apple has to do that. They gotta know they can't keep doing that forever. Google/Amazon will eventually cause a reckoning.

I've always thought of Macs being for the computer-illiterate.  They rarely get viruses (supposedly), they're shit at running games, the only really useful thing about them is that they tend to run design programs quite well. So they're safer to use by someone who doesn't really know what they're doing than Windows OS' are.

Robstar knows how to use both but I prefer the mac because of the keyboard shortcuts. Tis true that I am lazy.

 

But I'm no fanboy, I use whatever computer's relevant to what I'm doing. Once I get back into game development..... THEN BILL GATES CAN HAVE ME ONCE AGAIN!!!!

See, that's the exact reason that I'm hesitant to switch to a Mac. I've known Windows keyboard shortcuts since I was like, 12, and I find myself trying to do them on my cell phone. I don't want to live in a world without Ctrl+Z (assuming that that particular one is different for Macs; I have no bloody idea).

Reminds me of this circuit simulation program I had to use once. Ctrl+Z was zoom in, not undo, undo was like F9. It messed me up so bad. Then again, the whole program was horribly design, I was not impressed.

Like Painkiller, the game with a gun that shoots both shurikens and lightning.

 

Also, the cost. Just get a supped up gaming PC for about the price of a Mac.

PC games. Things that didn't get a console release. Like Painkiller, except somebody decided to create a HD rerelease for it (for some reason.)

 

The point-and-click adventure games like Tales of Monkey Island.

 

Or even Strong Bad's Super Cool Game for Attractive People.  (Yes, that's a thing, by Telltale.)

Homestar Runner was my jam for years. Too bad they basically stopped doing it. I guess they got married and had kids, so they needed something more than merchandise money (the only revenue they ever reaped from Homestar Runner directly.)

I'm absolutely superb with computers and my first choice is still a Mac. Not to mention they really don't get viruses unless you actually and legitimately TRY (seriously, who would get MacKeeper?). 
I suppose you could also argue that PCs don't get viruses if you use common sense when downloading things.

False. You can buy disks at an Apple Store that are just the OS, and these can be installed on most computers, I believe.

If you meant iOS, however, you'd be 100% correct.
