Y'know there are poeple who have hickups as an illness they litterally have them for years, in rare extreme cases.

My Cure for Hiccups: Drink 7 gulps of water in a row without breathing and then they are gone. It's because if you swallow right when the hiccup comes they kind of just go away.

After I had the hiccups over a phone call on my last work term, my supervisor gave me a solution that, as weird as it sounds, works for me every time:
As long as you catch your first hiccup and verbally state(even if just under your breath) "that was my first hiccup", it'll also be your last. I didn't believe it would work at first but it's been working great so far.

I picture a (blue) chair fallen over on it's side, and in my head I try and stand it upright without it falling back over again. Tends to work.
I tried this yesterday.
It worked.
