First of all I feel like I have been massively spamming this forum the last day... sorry..

While browsing through some of these Anime threads I realized I would love to start watching them again, seeing as I'm sorta out of movies and american TV-Shows atm.

My problem is I have NO IDEA where to watch these Animes and where to find good ones! It's been years!

I would prefer battle and/or magic filled animes and no love dramas please :o

Halp?

Anime avenue, Google that good thing. It's pretty good about updating new stuff and isn't full of cluttery ads and videos if you don't use adblock.

And as for magic/action anime, right now Magi is in its second season and season 1 was a two cor. I shotgunned season one and burned myself out, but I'll probably watch 2 when it's done. Noragami is premering now and is fucking awesome. Wolf and Krys should look into that one.noragami-02-hiyori-soul-cat_tail-cat_ear

Also, Catgirl! kinda

Seth likes Fairytale, he's around here somewhere. I've never watched it, but I have a friend who loves it, so go ahead. Plus, the boobies on that show are humungloidous.

Everyone has been loosing their mind over Attack on Titan, to the point that it had a panle at an anime convention I went to not long ago. I didn't recognize any of the costumes, since I refuse to watch.

I know you said you didn't like drama, but look into Mikakunin de Shinkoukei. Mashiro is the cutest little girl of all time ever, ever. She makes Shirly Temple look like a cancerous lump of nut meat. Without spoliers, Wolf and Krys, you would like it. It's down your alley.

Also, don't apologize for spamming the forum, even if Spleen yells at you and threatens spankings.

Thank you so much for all the insight! I guess I have at least a year's worth of Anime if I'm not picky haha

And I wouldn't want to be spanked. nope...

As for Animes filled with boobies and accidental pantie shots.. I'm a woman so that's not really what I'm looking for xD

There's plenty of "good" animes from my childhood (that may not be as amazing as I once thought in hindsight) that I'd still watch for nostalgia purposes.  The first 25 episodes of the Pokemon anime are up on Netflix now. Watched the episodes where things actually happened (new Pokemon caught, Lt. Surge battle, etc.)

I have to admit I have watched a whole lot of pokemon yeh! Really makes the child in you run free! or soar like a bird, whatever!

Sadly however I cannot pay for Netflix anymore... I have seen it all... maybe in 4+ months xD

Also I reject Naruto, Bleach and full metal alchemist. they're like the Anime versions of a very bad soap opera. Don't misunderstand as I have watched many seasons of them all, but in the end you're just always left with a feeling that NONE of your questions have been answered and 100 more arise each episode D:

The higher the score the more I recommend it. This is a list of animes that I rate based on how much I liked it.

Basically, this is a list for my future self to what anime the past self recommends. You see, I can forget things easily if I want to, which is perfect for some animes I have given a good score on.

Also 20 posts isn't spamming. If I remember right I made 150 posts in one day on here.

The new Fullmetal Alchemist, Brotherhood I think is the tagline, that actually follows the manga is pretty damn good.  Same two main voice actors and everything.  I didn't watch the original much due to its terrible-ness in certain stories.  Which I found out were all not in the manga.

If you're aiming for nostalgia kind of feeling: Slayers is the way to go. It has everything that older fantasy Anime had; ribboned with great comedy and amazing characters. I also think it was the first Anime in my memory other than Dragon Ball that had villains who weren't completely dull/evil. Just avoid english dubbings, the japanese voice acting and singing is what makes it so great. Speaking of Dragon Ball, if you've been a fan of it as a child, Dragon Ball Kai is way to go! It's basically Dragon Ball Z shortened and remastered. It has worse openings/endings and too much of a plastic feeling to it, but is a great way to rekindle that love for Anime now when you don't have unlimited time to go through whole Dragon Ball again.

When we  talk about modern Anime, Shingeki no Kyojin is quickly becoming legendary. It has a very intriguing plot that makes a lot of sense (which is hard to find in Anime), a very interesting world where humankind is at a brink of extinction, and it's animation and music are top notch. Definitely great if you feel like nothing's good enough and you want to see how great and grown-up Anime can be.

As a fellow Fantasy fan, I don't think there ever was a better Anime from that genre than Seirei no Moribito. I had to attempt it twice, because first episode was somehow unconvincing. But once I tried again and got further, I fell in love. The setting is just so beautiful, the story draws you and doesn't let go, it makes lots of sense and the fights are enjoyable, as they present true, old Japanese swordmanship. If you liked Princess Mononoke, this is basically the exact kind of world setting and either of the two stories could fit in the other. It's a hidden gem, and it's a shame that so few Anime fans know of its existence.

So yeah, these two are my most recent favourites and I whole-heartedly reocmmend them.

I judge anime pretty solely on their opening.

I approve the fuck out of this.

At that point, both of you, there's a certain sub-genre of anime that may fill those needs.

Trying to be subtle.  I don't want to have to say what it is.  Because it is a silly place.
