I've been meaning to expand my music library, so I was wondering if people had anything to offer.

some things that I currently listen to:
The white stripes/ the dead weather/ the raconteurs (basically, jack white)

The arctic monkeys

The black keys

The kills

Zeus

Led zeppelin

cold play

U2

pink floyd

discount

queens of the stone age

greenhornes

discount

arcade fire

I appreciate anything that you can recommend that is similar to this, but I would also appreciate some different things (trying to branch out my tastes a little)

EDIT: I should add that I'm not really into very much pop music. Also no dubstep!

This is a band I very much enjoy. They're noise rock, not sure if you'd be into it, but you could give it a chance.

Yeah, I'll give it a shot just as soon as I get on a decent connection.
Thanks!

Judging by your list of bands and such that you provided I think you would enjoy a lot of what I listen to:

Rainbow

The Heavy

Deep Purple

Jet

Sloan

Iron Maiden

Styx

If that little sample tickles your fancy I can post every band I have on my ipod for you to pick and choose from.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

I like deep purple quite a lot already, actually.

I've heard most of the other stuff. I'll give them a listen.

Thanks.

There For Tomorrow is a band I would recommend. Based off your list I'm guessing their latest album would probably suit your taste more since their first EP and full length are a little more alternative. There newest full length though is called The Verge. There's some alternative in there but there's more of a variety of relaxed and different styles of music mixed in also.

I don't know all the bands on your list but from what I see you might also like

gorillaz, 77 bombay street, kodaline

I may be biased since those are things I like ^^

I have a list of the things you people recommended. Gonna try 'em all out, see what I like.

Thanks to all!

EDIT: listening to melt banana. Not all of it's for me, but some of it is quite good.

Rainbow: again, I like some of of it.

The heavy: can't say I'm a big fan. They're okay.

I noticed deep purple and other old school rock bands that you seemed to like, so what about one of the most famous of all; Whitesnake. Possibly not a match if you lean more on the punk rock side though :)

Yeah, I do like white snake. Although, I wouldn't say they're the most famous of all...

Wolfmother

The Killers

Blur

Velvet Underground

AC/DC

Killswitch Engaged

I've been meaning to listen to them crooked vultures. Wolfmother is badass. AC/DC never really piqued my interest. Rolling stones are something that I think you have to know if you are at all interested in rock. I enjoy the doors quite a lot.

Passion Pit
Two Door Cinema Club
MGMT

Goo Goo Dolls

Gorillaz

I've heard of a few of these, but don't really think I've given any of them a listen. Thanks.

There's Ninja Sex Party, the greatest band on the Internet.

All their songs are amazing, but here's a starting sampler pack:
