When proposed to me yesterday my take was "Superman would win hands down." My reasoning was that Superman would fly the Hulk into space & either let him float away or throw him into the sun.

I just received a text and I quote: "Except that the hulk would whup supermans azz before he got 50ft in the air..."

Personally I don't think Hulk is fast enough to stop something faster than a speeding bullet and - if he was - Superman only needs to stun him to have enough time to pick him up & fly him out.

I just wanted to know if there were any takers who wanted to weigh in on this.

Bad matchup I think, on account of marvel vs dc. Most people will simply agree with whichever comic group they like better.

However the Hulk is stronger that superman. So although superman could win by depositing him into the void of space it is up in the air as to wether or not superman would be capable of doing so before the hulk could get free/snap supermans neck/ crush parts of him.

In my personal opinion superman is the worst super hero idea ever conceived. Everyone needs a weakness and for superman they had to come up with a bullshit new element(yeah yeah radiated remains of his planet blah blah blah, awful lot of it on earth considering hes from another solar system). When determining superman's strength it is always either too high to have any matchups, which is boring, or if he will likely lose the matchup then all the dc fanboys start whining that "bullshit hes superman noone can beat him"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

I do think Superman would win since, from my understanding, the Hulk mutation doesn't last forever, so if he was to get beat up enough he would turn back into Banner. And since Superman doesn't really get tired or lose strength unless there's kryptonite around it would mean he could beat up on the Hulk as long as he wanted to.

But all in all Superman is just a flying version of the Hulk so it's hard to say who would win.

Also, Im not partial to either Marvel or DC, I love the heros from both side equally because they're all freaking awesome.

The match is from YouTube, just type in Superman vs Hulk. There's 4 videos so far but no real favoring of a side - probably to gather more viewers. I also agree about the boring nature of an invincible character.  I have no real Marvel / DC stance. I'm just hopelessly analytical.

Good point. ^_^ Superman could just fly away and wait for Hulk to become Banner again. He's certainly fast enough to get Banner into space before Hulk could do any damage.

Superman is amazingly strong, but has his limits.

The Hulk has theoretically exponential strength that only gets stronger as his challenge does.

He has held a mountain/volcano above his head (the rest of The Avengers were trapped underneath it and they mocked him so he would get angrier and angrier and keep them all alive), stalemated Juggernaught in a push vs shove match (Juggernaugh is literally un unstoppable force once he gets moving), and lifted Mjolnir, Thor's hammer, which no one but Thor should be able to lift. Superman may be strong, and speedy, but The Hulk's strength is decided by his opposition. So he would just get stronger until he won. Sort of like Goku.

Also, it would change a bit depending on if it were regular Hulk, or Bruce Banner intellect Hulk.

For a while there Banner managed to control himself while hulked out and maintained that form for years at a time.

So unlimited strength plus Banner's amazing brains would speel serious trouble for Captain Zippy Tightpants.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

You do have very valid points. But wasnt the original Superman literally unstoppable unless there was kryptonite around? Similar to original Hulk.

Superman does have a weakness. His weakness is that his is an idiot. The only reason he every gets by in the comics and movies is because he is invincible, and the only reason he has problem is because he is too stupid to a) not reveal his weakness and B) stay away from led.

The Hulk could not be Superman because just like Superman the Hulk is stupid, and thus Superman's invincibility trumps anything the Hulk could do.

Now against a smart hero like Batman, I would say Batman would win because he can plan circles around Superman's dense skull.

I think we found a DC fanboy.
