Also, they are both 21.

Generally people that age are stupid as shit when it comes to relationships and assessing a proper mate.

Some people go their whole lives without figuring out how to assess a proper mate.

I don't think people get better at it as they get older, one people when they are between 16 and 30 just go on a dating spree having micro relationships until they find something that sticks, with that method you will eventually get lucky and thus leave the dating pool. Older people don't know anything more about finding the right person, they just have a higher chance of being in a stable relationship because they have been trying longer, or they haven't found anyone and just give up.

Agreed.

I think it has to do with how a person learns from their mistakes. Getting older seems less relevant than not wanting the same disaster with a different person.

w/e. My grandparents are in their late 80s and have been married over 50 years. And they are so chill/great. They're so old now, they don't even care about their mistakes.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you thought I was saying. I merely state people often do the same thing expecting a different result & that age is no guarantee a person won't think like that.

So? That doesn't mean they are better at dating, it just means they have been out of the dating loop for 50 years and therefore don't even contribute to the statistics.

Its been my experience that a lot of times at the beginning of the relationship people try harder or hide the personal type of ashole they actually are and by the time they show you, youre too far emotionally invested to come to your senses.

I agree with this entirely

What's worse is - we don't get put into these situations because we're stupid/silly, if that was the case, we'd probably learn from it. We fall for arseholes because we're tricked into feeling for them.

Makes me feel cheated.

Yep.

And makes it increasingly difficult to trust anyone again when you know they have the potential to be such pieces of shit.

I can certainly second that. Third it as well, I suppose.

Because for some odd reason most women like bad boys.Which makes no sense to me since they always end up being treated badly.

On a very subconscious level women want the strongest mate for their offspring.

The strong guy is the one who proves himself superior to other males by besting them in any way he can.

Which just so happens to be the same shit that makes him an asshole.

Tis simply survival of the fittest.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Girls that go after guys like that don't realize that their is someone better out there, but once they get a little older they come to appreciate nice guys.

For the last few years I've been of the opinion that if you call yourself a 'nice guy', you're not a nice guy at all. You act nice to get something from someone, be that sex or a girlfriend or what have you. 'Nice guys' gross me out.
