We all got 'em - what's yours?

Mine is a tie between:

Sum of All Fears [2002] & Queen of the Damned [2002]

(But I will never apologize for loving QotD's soundtrack)

The soundtrack reminds me of the nineties so hard.

I can't think of any movies I enjoy that are of questionabe quality.

I am too picky when it comes to my entertainment for the most part.

If I were to put my owned movie list on here it would probably make me even more revered.

"Questionable quality", "Ownership", nor "Pickiness" are factors for this thread. The topic is simply: "Movies you hate yourself for loving". You either have some or you don't. I think everyone does whether they admit it or not. But I'm frequently wrong so don't sweat it if you have none. I'm only seeking out honest cinematic comaraderie.

Pretty much any of those cheap zombie flicks. Knight of the Dead, Redneck Zombies, Gangs of the Dead, Zombies Vs Ninjas, Kung-Fu Zombies. They're fucking terrible, but I love them.

I like b-movies (The Room, Birdemic and the like), but I wouldn't really call them guilty pleasures because i'm watching them for humor, and that isn't really something to feel guilty about.

Also, "Zombies Vs. Ninjas"? That sounds like the best movie ever created.

I don't really hate myself for loving them, but there's this one that I can think of.

It's Cabin Fever: the movie is very silly in a way. Especially when Deputy Winston keeps saying: "It's the party man!" "You realize how many awesome parties were going to have?"

This gets me everytime I watch it, haha!

I have no shame. In fact it was a girl who dragged me 2 see this film. I thought it was going to be lame.... But I absolutely enjoyed it. Even more so then a man my age should.... lol

For some reason I like the move Kung-Pow Enter the Fist. My guess is nostalgia since I watched it all the time as a kid. Sadly I can't even claim terribad rights on this one unlike Batman & Robin.

Requiem For A Dream.

Theres just so much of it that is so difficult to sit through..
Makes Trainspotting feel like a romp in the woods.

Am I the only person in the universe who willingly watched Requiem for a Dream twice?

Maybe.

I had too many friends waste away with that vile substance.

Hit entirely too close to home, the realism was nightmarish for me.

Fantastic movie tho.

Requiem for a Dream [2000] falls into an odd category of movies I only hate because my excitement to see it was based on the director's previous film. Some examples off the top of my head:

• I loved Darren Aronofsky's Pi [1998] but was so disappointed by Requiem For A Dream [2000]

• I loved David Fincher's Se7en [1995] but nearly fell asleep watching The Game [1997]

• I loved M Night's The Sixth Sense [1999] but was put-off by Unbreakable [2000]...

• ...I thought Shyamalan learned his lesson with Signs [2002]. I got my hopes hope, but was again violated with The Village [2004] and so on.

What stinks is I have no way of knowing what I would have thought of these films if I'd seen them without those expectations. As it is, I can't disconnect the movie from the scarring I carry around in my soul...
