Hello! I don't know about you guys, but iv'e been looking for some time now to find a pen-friend (email, not pen and paper style). I miss the old pen and paper days, and lets face it, its a nice feeling when someone sends you a personal message. I would like to find a pen-friend, so if anyone fancy's trying to install a email-exchanging-relationship then leave me a pvt message (<== don't know how to describe it).

And who knows, perhaps some of you are searching for a pen-friend, so this topic could become a "pen-friend-zone" for anyone interested  :D

We humans give so much for granted, but not many people realize what a fluke it is if we are here today. Remember how lucky we are, and take a minute to be grateful for what we have. Because before you know it, the best has come to past, and you will be left with nothing, but remorse for what was, and what will never be.

Email as a communication tool is just about as dead as pen and paper, xD

Hehe, pen-friend-zone.

It's dirty no matter how you roll it in your mouth.

PUNZILLA!

How about sex-pen-friends? I feel that that'll get more people on board. Can you imagine the kind of smut Wolf and Krys would send?

What's a friend?

What's a pen?

Who am I?

Where am I?

Am I even alive?

Am I having a good time?

What is good?

Why should I even care what good is?

How does something being good benefit me?

Why do I want to benefit myself?

Am I benefiting anyone else?

Should I care about anyone else?

Should I care about myself if I'm benefiting others?

What do I call people who I want to benefit?

Are those what friends are?

People who you want to benefit?

Friends...

Personally I like writing with pen and paper.

But I feel like this thread is going in a whole other direction now :P

Yeah sorry about that.

We tend to go off a tangent sometimes.

I would be all for a pen-pal type thing, but I am far too busy with life stuff currently.

I run my own business (online as well as brick and mortar), am trying to get married and in to a house, and still trying to post on here from time to time.

So I don't quite have enough hours in the day.

Someone else may bite though.

...Nope. Not gonna do it. Just walk away with your perverse thoughts, Dustin. They're not wanted here.

I'm not one for pen-pal type situations otherwise I would hop in and join you.

But if your just looking for ways to keep writing English so you don't forget it, then just participating on the forum is going to serve you the same as a pen-pal would.

Yep i know but writing serious things to serious people is a bit different. Where style and format go a bit loop-sided so it's not the same business. My suggestion was a shot in the dark that nobody wanted to pickup, it's ok, i'll search on some fb group or forum specialized in international pen-friending  :P

There are many an occasion where we have serious conversations to. We have a nice mix of serious and fun on this forum from my experience.

I've always wanted to be pen-pals with someone. Pen and paper, to be exact. I like the idea of exchanging hand written letters with people I barely know. Tho of course, it's not a safe thing to do, and to find someone with the same, genuine desire to do this with is really risky.

I think I'm hopelessly analytical but, if I were wanting a Pen-Pal I would probably...

1. Show up at a forum & read, do nothing but read until...

2. I found someone I thought had the right chemistry then...

3. Start posts of interest (mine or theirs) & see if they chimed in and - if they did -

4. Private Message them about their input back-n-forthing it to see if their PM-ing matched my expectations and, if it went well...

5. Swap e-mails sharing messages, links, etc & if that looked promising and then - only then - would I...

6. Begin corresponding through handwritten letters and...

7. If at any point I'm not 1,000% content, I return to Step 1.

It's a pain but mistakes are easier to get into than out of & I agree with Kystofire about risk & safety.

If I had a friend or relative who asked my advice, this is exactly what I would answer in the hopes of keeping them safe while they become happy. I know my ideas aren't for everyone but I offer it anyway with my warmest wishes you find the ideal Pen-Pal.   :)

Again, why email? Skype or any other messaging system would be far more efficient. Especially if you want feedback on your English.

Krys I know where you live...

Thiiiiis. If you want to practice your English, a real-time chat...thing, is probably going to be better than replying to someone maybe one a day. No one really bothers to email for anything but work these days. :P

I'm having a hard time admitting how seriously I'm considering this idea.
