Screw actors. They get all the attention. What are your favorite writers and directors? Y'know, the people who actually make the story that you care so much about? It doesn't necessarily have to be movies or TV, it could be your favorite erotic Adventure Time fanfiction writer for all I care.

DISCLAIMER: I know actors are obviously vital to the creation of an audible and visual story.

Tim Burton is one of my favorite directors.

He knows what he does and he does what he knows.

If he is to survive any further in the industry of his choosing he is going to have to branch out a bit and stop doing the same three damn movies over and over again starring Johnny Depp and his wife.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

He has a style and people like it. He doesn't have to branch out. People love what he does, people love Johnny Depp and his wife Helen. Not every movie he does is the same, they each have their own unique thing and the movies are extremely different. I don't think you can really say all his movies are alike when you have Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Batman, Planet of the Apes, Sweeney Todd and Corpse Bride all on his resume.

I'd like to see him do more musicals. Sweeney Todd was actually delightfully directed.

I really don't get what's so great about Christopher Nolan. Sure I liked The Dark Knight, but I thought the rest of his films we're rather long and boring. Inception? Never been able to finish it, The Dark Knight Rises? I wasn't feeling it. Batman Begins? I only liked Cillian Murphy. And how could we forget...... wait..... I don't know any other movies he did......

I think everybody likes him coz of the Batman series, but Tim Burton will always be my favorite.

I know, right? Michael Keaton as Batman. Who the fuck would've thought. But it worked (for me, anyway).

Okay I have five notable directors:

Stanley Kubrick,

Ridley Scott,

Alfred Hitchcock,

Robert Mulligan,

Charlie Brooker.

My favourite writers in order are:

George Orwell,

Harper Lee,

Salman Rushdie.

Worthy of note though, is C. J. Sansom, who wrote Dominion, and Kazuo Ishiguro, for Never Let Me Go.
