What are you going to do with all those babies? o.O
It's Spleen we're talking about here...so I'm thinking legion of the damned. Children are easily brainwashed remember.
Just have a look at my thread about pen-friends and you will see what i mean mr.bookfloss
Bu anyway...i think everyone can feel unwanted on here, because transmitting affection and warmth through words is not an easy task, let alone to people you don't know. I say just give it a try on here, and if anything bad happens, say "oh well, screw them, they don't know me and i don't know them enough to care"
But anyway, please to meet you HelloNerdySam, i hope we will get along, and i hope you will find friends here
I think this is very true of any written-word format method of communication, that's why I love the shit out of smileys/emotes. I'm a sarcastic person and I do worry sometimes that people might misconstrue what I'm saying as offensive. I like to think I'm kind and affectionate inside though, I'm not mean-spirited by any stretch of the imagination.
When I joined up here I think I was still sort of trying to be someone I wasn't, employing the whole 'hurr hurr I'm such a mean person' matrix that some people just never lose after they leave school. Any way, whilst I definitely wasn't out to rub anyone the wrong way, that's what happened a couple of times to some members on here who are actually really awesome, adorable people (who I love to bits of course), I said some things that got taken the wrong way and then I made a big 'ole hissy fit. Any way, that's ancient history now. So erm...I think my point was, just be who you are, or something? And use lots of smileys?
I mean, there's a forum I've been on for nearly six years now, it's been around since 2000 and it's very...incestuous. We get maybe two or three new members a year that stick around, just enough to replace the odd old-timer that finally throws their hat in. Any way, even in that place where everyone knows each other, lots of people have met in person and we all share a common interest in a few of the same things, people tend to be at each others necks a lot. I mean, this is a forum where we saved one of the members from committing suicide! The people in this place are a million times more caring of people's feelings and stuff, even though it's a lot less tightly knit. I'd definitely recommend people come here because the community is so nice and 99% of the people get along with one another!
