Entering a new environment assuming that no one will like you is the fastest way to make sure that happens.

I second this statement. 

Maybe people in real life don't think the best of you (Although I have no way of telling if they do or don't), but we are a new people. We are nerds, and these are probably the least judgmental people I have talked to. You won't have a problem fitting in, just keep your head up and attitude positive.
