I'm excited. I saw a demo playthrough at Pax Prime. Apparently it will have console to iOS cross play where the person on the phone must spring hack traps (like changing stoplights or blowing up water mains) in order to keep the person on the console from reaching their destination.

Meh. I cared when it was initially announced. Now I'm more interested in other things.

I believe that Watch dogs will be in the Top 5 Games of 2014. This Game is so diverse and badass that it can wipe the floor with any other game. Well, except GTA V. But Watch Dogs is like a mix between Splinter cell, Assassins creed, and GTA. So……….Freaking………AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well personally I'll wait to put it on any lists until after it comes out.

Agreed.
It does look like it has the potential to be something great.
But the game industry tends to hype things up so damn mush that when they arrive we get less than we thought we would.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

Yeah, I've learned to become really skeptical when it comes to well known triple A developers boosting new and exciting things.
I mean, I'm also really excited about the new Thief coming out. But let's be real, they are literally just naming it Thief, it seems almost destined to fail.
Though on the other hand the new Tomb Raider was good... not great but I don't think they screwed it up too much.

As someone who is playing it as a game and wasn't expecting it to be "the messiah" I am rather enjoying it. No it didn't change how I feel about video games, but I was never expecting it too.
The only thing I really don't like is how long loading times are. When you fail a mission it takes a minute or more to load each time, even if you are loading from the same checkpoint. You'd think with modern technology they could keep a kind of backup of your last check point that way loading the same one takes less time if it is your nth time loading it (n not being 1).

I think I will wait for a price drop as I have heard from many people that the game has some performance issues on several different platforms

100% this. Decent, fun game. I recognize Chicago locations from the Dresden Files (new book came out same day. Skin Games. Was awesome) that was fun. WTF is up with the loading times? Online shenanigans will probably be fun, I talked to a buddy today who got it too.
Good game. Nothing amazing. People seem to be mad at silly things. Then again, I didn't follow development. Reminds me of Fable and that dude.

So apparently the Assassin's Creed series are video games in the Watch_Dogs universe.
Which is a little strange because they are VR "movies" in their own series.

My complaints about the game are as follows.
-Collision detection is wank. If I ram a hummer from the side, at full speed, while popping a motorcycle wheelie, it shouldn't send the hummer spinning while I just flop down onto two wheels like nothing happened.
-Hacking is a waste of time. I did a gang hideout side mission. The first few times, I used hacking. Popped people's grenades, used car alarms and shit to move people near electrical grids and other explosives. Zipping from camera to camera. Took about 15 minutes or so. Reloaded the mission and went in with my pistol and stick thingy. Took approx. 45 seconds. Even escaping from the cops doesn't really require hacking as long as you're not a total spastic behind the wheel.
-Side missions are sometimes annoyingly specific. "Take down the suspect" apparently means "beat him until his body stops moving" but shooting them is a big no-no. Mission failed, you killed him. Surely smacking the guy multiple times in the face will do the same thing.
-Money seems useless? I apparently have over $15,000, but aside from an early story mission involving me purchasing an assault rifle (which to this day I haven't fired once) there seems to be no use for it aside from buying clothes. You could probably go the entire game without buying a thing, at this rate.
-Why does me nudging a parked car gently with my own cause a shower of sparks?
And a story gripe which I'll spoiler
More to come the further I get, probably.
Edit: Also, on PS3 there are framerate dips when it rains. This is unacceptable.

The real question is whether the game is being ported to the OUYA. I don't think the game will be profitable if it isn't.
There also needs to be compatibility with cellphones. That will benefit the immersion, the only thing I care about in video games. How am I supposed to feel like I'm a hacker if I'm not using my own phone to cause a traffic light to stop working? And it needs to be compatible with all phones, even my crappy flip phone.
I'm also worried about the Kinect functionality. This will be the second most vital factor in creating immersion. If I can't flail my arms and legs at my screen to simulate combat, the entire investment will have been meaningless.

Hahaha they also said that the Far Cry series was in the same universe as Assassin's Creed

People still purchase the OUYA?

Was the OUYA any good then? It seemed like such a sweet idea when it was being made.
