I found a way old school map of chicago i want to get framed (thinking of wall decor for my house), that would be a neat one too.
I want to have different maps all over one of my rooms, real and from awesome media like Game of Thrones, skyrim, lotr, Avatar, etc.

If it's one you want printed out, let me know. I can get the paper that makes it look aged.

Little smaller, but i thought it was a really interesting concept.
"I was playing around with some population density data visualizations with D3.js and thought this looked interesting. It shows the ambient population density of various latitudes and longitudes, but instead of showing the highest spots with a chart that goes up, I've indicated the highest density spots with charts that go down. I thought it produced a pretty interesting visual. I gave the graphs a slightly oozy look by adding a little tip to the end and having it interpolate it roundly.
Re: the data — it is derived from the LandScan ambient population database, and shows estimated population density over a 24 hour period. Density is indicated by both color and length of the graphs. Projection is Robinson, I think.
(D3.js makes this kind of stuff very easy to tinker with, once you get the initial parameters set up. I exported the Landscan data into pre-compiled CSV files that are loaded on the fly for each latitude. Takes about 5 seconds to render in the browser, can then be exported as SVG into Inkscape or whatever.)
EDIT: Here's [another rendering](http://i.imgur.com/ao4fDw6.png) of the same data, with some more screening out of low values and a better ordering (instead of z-index being determined by latitude, it is now determined by value, so that big ones don't get buried). [And the same with a little less opacity on the fills...](http://i.imgur.com/8TtPtG7.png)'
