Anyone still play this? Picked it up for $3.47, been enjoying myself.

Did a bit of MM but kept getting matched with/against master guardian's so I'm taking it back to casual until I'm ready for that level of seriousness, l0l.

If i get a comp set up i plan in getting this when i can.

Between having a craving for old school wow areas ive been missing shooting people in the face in cs and looking at the crazy beautiful mods i have on skyrim.

I enjoyed modding cs quite a bit but from the gameplay id seen from this latest installment, it holds up just fine on its own.

Too excite.

It's pretty solid. I wouldn't mind higher res textures but it's good enough that I don't want to go to the effort of modding it.

I love modding personally.

I enjoy the whole process and even moreso the outcome i can acheive.

But ill definitely try it on its own for a while first.

Are there any substantial changes to expect, or is it pretty much what youre used to from cs?

There's built in matchmaking now so you don't have to find a server (but you can still manually browse if you so choose).

Deathmatch and gungame are now built in game types, which is nice.

Some of the maps are a bit imbalanced (ie in favor of T or CT) - fine for ranked matchmaking but kind of sucks for casual.

Crosshairs look a lot better, give a better visual indication of what to expect of sway/spray.

Spammable terrain (boxes you can shoot through) are a lot less visually obvious than 1.6, hopefully they'll patch this though.

Gameplay style is ultimately pretty similar, I'd say it finds a really good balance between complicated 1.6 and dumbed down source.

Ya, they still have the old style server browser system but I haven't played around with it yet.

It takes me a very long time to get comfortable with fps..probably because i spend so much time on mmos and flash games.

But theyre super fun so i do the same thing and play against bots till i feel more at ease. <.<

I don't think FPS are too hard to get used to, I think counter-strike just has an absurdly high skill floor/cap, especially compared to AAA shooters (e.g. CoD).

I don't play shooters often for this very reason. I mostly stick to turn-based RPGs and visual novels, though I've been enjoying Path of Exile recently >.> And MMOs aren't too bad, as long as you modify the controls a little bit.
