I don't really like super heroes for the most part. The only one I really like is Batman (and he isn't even technically a superhero).

 

Probably said this before but I really have a thing for heroes that do their best to prevent the deaths of their enemies (Batman, Vash the Stampede, The Doctor (pre-Moffat), Starfleet, Solid Snake (the way I play him)) because it shows far more skill and compassion than someone who just sets out with the idea that getting the enemy dead solves the issue fine.

 

I suppose Spider-man and Superman also don't set out to kill the villians, but I find them incredibly dense and they generally get people killed from their ignorance.

Superman is understandable, since he's got all this super-strength Mary Sue bullshit that he doesn't even know he's killed someone half the time. You ever seen the original cartoons? Throwing people through walls, off buildings, blowing up robots.

 

Spiderman has only (that I recall) killed a few times, and they were all unavoidable. During the Man-Spider arc I believe he killed a few people, but he wasn't in his right mind. And in the Toby MaGuire movie, he killed the Goblin because the Goblin tried to ambush him with his flyer. Spiderman jumped out of the way and the flyer impaled Goblin. So in that case, it wasn't his fault.

It is less that Spider-man kills a lot and more that his actions cause more deaths than should happen. I've only seen a few cartoons and the movies so definitely not an expert, you might be right about him.

 

I guess I just consider him to much of a child to actually be a hero.

Batman is far more of a marysue than Superman ever could be.
