Anyone ever played it? Homeworld 1 won game of the year in 1999, and basically defined a genre all on its own. It has remained my favorite game since its release, and I have yet to find another game that allows you to perform a pincer attack from the left, right, above, and below.
It's an RTS game where you control a fleet of space ships on a homeward journey. I'd definitely suggest looking it up for any of you strategy buffs. But be warned, this game is from the days when games were Nintendo Hard, and it is not for the faint of heart.

I've never heard of it, but it sounds similar to Sins of a Solar Empire. I might have to check it out.

Homeworld is awesome, it still looks great on todays PCs too, it does not look its age.
Eve Online is like the modern day Homeworld, I've eplayed both and they are great.
There are two sequels to Homeworld that are both worth checking out too.

I loved Cataclysm, I think Barking Dog did the series justice with it. The Beast is one of my favorite video game baddies, and I have been hard pressed to find another game where the voice acting alone can illicit emotion.
Homeworld 2, however, was such a huge letdown.
