I've admittedly never heard of it. Care to shed some details? x:

http://www.dragoncon.org/ Everything I know I have gathered from the website. A convention in Atlanta Georgia that includes anime, various comics, video games and other things. This will be my first big convention. :0

I have friends who dress up every year. I don't tag along because of the aforementioned reason. I love cosplay, but not when I know the fools.

Dragoncon is a pretty big deal for isolated nerds around here. I can't say I get the convention thing.

I feel that would be a fun thing to do. To just go and be surrounded by other people expressing their fandom and getting the chance to get my hands on some cool stuff. I love to see other people cosplay too! I wanted to, but I only have enough funds to go. So i'll have to cosplay another time.

Dragoncon is on the growing list of conventions I want to go to. But alas, a broke university student usually isn't able to go especially when its in another country.

Well, shit, Idk, you know it has to now! You thinkin' dildos shaped like dragons or proportional to a dragon's size with scales at the base? I gotta Google this now, and maybe add 'women using' to the search. There goes my morning!

Are there not any nerd conventions up in Ca'nadia? Like, snowcon or maplegate?

I honestly like the homemade, cheap costumes better most of the time. If you're creative and crafty enough, you'll blow away some of the cool pvc or fiberglass stuff.

Also, the greatest cosplay is always the cheapest.

Maplegate.

Yes.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

You just love catgirls, don't you? :P

There are conventions, but the only ones I can afford to go to are very small and don't have the guest speakers that I want to meet most.

I'm not currently in a position to go to conventions like this, but I hope to be at some point in the near future. I'll have an excuse to dress up as awesome things.
