Okay, so I'm a musical fanatic, as you'll learn soon enough. I'm curious to know what everyone is into, currently? My tastes are rather complex and vast, but at the moment, I'm really enjoying the latest Iron & Wine record, 'Ghost on Ghost.' It's of course no 'Shepherd's Dog,' but there are a few great ideas on the LP, including the infectious 'Low Light Buddy of Mine.'

I know this is an old thread, but I'm a huge musical fanatic too! Although... I don't really listen to much of the same things ya'll do here so far... but oh well! I'll share anyway :)

I listen to a LOT of different genres. From indie electronic to Romantic classical to R&B to gypsy jazz, I'm really welcome to everything except really harsh music (i.e. heavy metal, hardcore rap).

I use spotify, and I have one major playlist folder where I keep around 10 playlists of music I REALLY enjoy listening too. There's around 500+ songs in the library so far, but some new additions to the library have included some country (lots of people bash on country, but I find it simple and sweet!), Biréli Lagrène (he's a French gypsy jazz artist), Muse (I used to think all of their songs sounded the same, but I'm really enjoying their recent album and some old songs!), and Billy Joel. I just LOVE Billy Joel. Especially "Vienna", "Movin' Out", "Uptown Girl", "Piano Man"... everything. :)

Piano Man is one of my favourite songs ever.

I feel like the first time Piano Man came on the radio and I didn't turn the station was the moment I became an adult, like it was the first time I could appreciate it.

There has been a disappointing lack of any electronic music of any kind :(

Burial, Zomby, Boards of Canada, Gas, Moderat, and Four Tet are some of the artists I most enjoy

Was looking for a music related thread. My favourite band is most certainly elbow. I fell in love after the first song I heard. I would recommend anyone to listen to them. Plus Guy Garvey has got those rugged good looks. Phwoarrr.

The only song of theirs I know is "Grounds for Divorce", but that song is awesome. I so love the beat and ...dirge of it. Also, the pain expressed within is so tangible. It really hits the soul.

At the moment, I'm living off of old CDs I burned: a Lemon Demon mix, Ilona Miterecy, Ministry of Magic (Bravest Man I Ever Knew makes me cry), some NIN, a few selections from the Sly Cooper series, and something else that I can't remember. Crusing YouTube, I've been watching some Super Junior (Mr Simple is such a rad song) and a few other K-poppers.

I'm into a lot of experimental music, as well as more conventional stuff.

Blues rock and garage rock are something I love. The White Stripes, The Kills and The Black Keys (who I saw last night) are all very cool.

I go through phases where I enjoy a lot of punk rock. Check out Nomeansno, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains (all old but good)

Hard rock bands are pretty common for me. Obvious classics like Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top etc. are forever great, but newer stuff like Queens of the Stone Age are terrific too.

I'm not much into electronic music, but The Gaslamp Killer is pretty cool.

But, I like more experimental stuff too. The new swans album is very clearly a masterpiece. Death grips is good (despite me not being a particular hip hop person. Godspeed You! Black Emperor is pretty terrific, as is Have a Nice Life. The new Melt Banana thing is pretty awesome.

Math Rock is great. Check out Hella and Shellac (I have a soft spot for Hella's "Hold Your Horse Is", despite the ear piercing production).

I'm still trying to get into noise, so any recommendations in that would be cool.

Recently, I've been listening to a lot of drone music. Eliane Radigue's "La Trilogie De La Mort" is great (and also three hours long). Sunn O)))) has some good stuff.

This post is probably pretty rambling and unorganized and incoherent, but I'm tired, so there.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, I've also been into Andrew Jackson Jihad, particularly "Wolf Man"

I'm fearful, I'm fearful, I'm fearful of flying, and flying is fearful of me.
