Hey, some of you know about my *slight* game jam addiction. Well, I thought it would be cool to do something like that on here. Now I am aware of the fact that many (most) people do not participate in game jams, or the indie community, but what if any kind of art was allowed.
Suppose that we had it run for say.... a week, and at the end, the community voted on a winner. How does this sound to everyone?
idea for the rules (subject to change)
1) all content must be created during the one week period
2) all content must be based in some way upon a theme, announced at the start of the jam.
3) anyone can enter
4) anyone can submit to a community prize pool, and anything can be added. The prizes may be whatever the donor wishes (steam games, money, fan art, even joke prizes etc.) and may be assigned for any reason (ie. favorite submission, first place, last place, last place odd numbered submission that did not tie with another submission and is a prime number etc.)
5) this is for fun, SO HAVE FUN, DAMMIT!
6) be a good sport
7) any genre of art can be submitted, there are no restrictions as to what "art" is defined as
8) you may include as many pieces as you wish in your submission, but they will all be considered as a single entry (ie. make a gallery of images
So, what do you think of the idea? If people like it, I see no reason not to go ahead with it.
