Here here.
I have seen people get hit by cars, of no fault of their own, and shrug it off as "shit happens".
Then I hear about some American twat who burns herself with a cup of coffee and sues the restaurant that sold it to her.
Don't get me wrong, we have asshats in Canada too, we just wait until they pop up with some stupid bullshit and try our best to export them to Murika.
It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

I got hit by a car a few years ago, as a pedestrian. The driver wanted to sue me, but the police talked him out of it >_> wtf

Assuming you are referring to the McDonald's coffee incident? You should look into the actual story, it was far more legitimate of a claim than most people thought. McD's spent a fair bit of money defaming the woman to try to curb public opinion against her to try and force her to drop the lawsuit.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

she burnt herself on a coffee.
Coffee is a hot beverage, she knew it would be hot.
Hell, places that serve people coffee have "Caution; HOT" on the cups because some people are too fucking stupid to realize a normal coffee is hot. How they're allowed to breed when they need warning labels on their coffee so they don't burn themselves I will never understand.

actually, in that case McDonalds was serving coffee at an extreme temperature compared to other establishments. she didn't win because she burned herself with coffee, she won because the scalding hot coffee gave her third degree burns on her legs and crotch, some of which actually hit her pelvic bones.

well in that case that is kind of insane.
still, wouldn't you feel how hot the cup was and not be able to handle it?
that scalding coffee would definitely have heated the cup to near burning temperatures. I don't even like touching cups when they're normal temperature hot beverages. That being said my hands (and the rest of me) are extremely temperature sensitive, so I can't even handle dishes without burning my hands. and being out in the cold (even with gloves) freezes my hands to the point it's difficult to use them for the next half hour when I'm back in until they thaw out.

Yeah it's the same with peanut butter and packets of mixed nuts that say
"Warning: may contain nuts"
You're just thinking to yourself "well no shit"

So, I still have bob. Turns out he's a bit derpy. I just had to rescue him because he got his head stuck under his own wing while upside down on a branch.

Also that sounds like a real uncomfortable position to be in. Poor baby.

Get him a friend.
After what you said about letting a bird die, I assumed you said "Get him fried" for a second there.

xP ... Okay I'm sorry about letting a freaking bird die that I could have easily rescued. I'm trying to be a little sympathetic now.
