Any other traceurs here?  I know diabolical_jazz is, but I don't know besides that.  I'm just a rank amateur, but I still love running and jumping around, and I can execute vaults and whatnot with reasonable skill.  I lack good practice areas in my town, though, unfortunately. :(

That said, watching this video, and with the weather getting warmer out, I've been feeling the itch...

>_>

I almost kill myself every night on the way to the bathroom over Spleen's boots.

So no, I do not partake.

Coincidence? I think not...

There's no real spots around me for it. When I was younger though there was a lot of running and jumping over things and such in heavily wooded areas while we tried to shoot each other.

WOO!

Also, anyone can practice with just a picnic table. Although it's not as fun as having an interesting space to do it in. I miss the community college in northern Minnesota I used to use.

I don't think he needs to be immortal. I think all he needs to do is to write the right story. Because some stories do live forever.

Upon watching the video: Too many flips. Oh god, my precisions need soooooo much work. And my one-foot takeoffs.

What do you mean TRIED?

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Is this what most Texan children do for fun?

I think parkour looks really cool, but I'd never be able to do it. I'll admire it from afar.

Yeeeaaah, I tired of the tricking trend in "parkour" videos.  I mean, it looks awesome, but no economy of motion or cool traverses...

Word. Everytime they do a flip, I'm like "Oh sweet, he's gonna wall run up tha- awww, a flip."
"Oh man there's no way he's going to make that vault- beeeecause he did a flip instead. Huh."

I mean, nothing against personal expression or whatever, but flips just aren't the bits I consider cool.

The only free running type stuff I have ever done is through the woods.

My town is tiny and majority elderly, so in town romper stomping is hard to do.

The woods though, that is free reign.

It is perfectly acceptable to fear and admire a being you could not possibly understand.

There used to be a Hertfordshire parkour group but I don't think they still go around any more, shame. I used to really want to do parkour but I'm prone to doing stupid shit and nearly getting myself killed. And that's just crossing the road. Not a good idea for me to be jumping off buildings.
